Profile:
In 1984, Mitsuya Nagai directly petitioned to join All Japan, but the late Giant Baba told him to graduate high school first, then return. Instead of doing that, he joined the second UWF, but was injured before he could compete. After UWF closed, Nagai followed it's founder, Akira Maeda, to RINGS, where he became one of it's top native fighters. He also competed in kickboxing events, fighting in the popular K-1 promotion. In late 1999, he switched his attention to professional wrestling, joining Yuki Ishikawa's BattlARTS promotion and quickly becoming a top name there. He began appearing for All Japan in late 2000, forming a team with Masahito Kakihara called Team Strongs. He soon left BattlARTS to become a contracted All Japan wrestler, and became Toshiaki Kawada's protégé, which resulted in a big step up the card and more victories. In December, 2002, shortly after pinning Satoshi Kojima, Nagai suddenly left All Japan to become a freelancer. On New Japan's January, 2003, Tokyo Dome super-show, two new masked men joined the anti-New Japan Makai Club, one man using a familiar swan dive knee attack to defeat a man he put out of action for a year in June, 2001, Takashi Iizuka. That man (Makai #5) was Mitsuya Nagai, who entered the Makai Club and began the next phase of his career. In February, 2003, after being provoked by Iizuka, Makai #5 unmasked, revealing the man everyone suspected. Amidst a big company shake-up in January, 2006, Nagai decided to end his three year stay with New Japan, becoming a freelancer. A very skilled and aggressive wrestler, Nagai uses brutal kicks and knees to ground opponents, and displays a mean streak that has made him a much feared competitor.
