Late in 2002, a tournament was held to determine ZERO-ONE's top junior heavyweight. On the line was a title belt, giving the victor a permanent trophy for his success. The World 1Jr. Heavyweight Title was created as a result, and quickly became an instrumental part of ZERO-ONE.
