"GET A RIGHT!! BLACK VS. G-EGGS" was a major tour for the ongoing Team 2000 vs. Fighting Club G-EGGS faction war, as it saw the two sides wage war over nineteen matches, with something very important on the line. Not only were bragging rights up for grabs, but also matchmaking rights for the 12/10 "BATTLE FINAL 2000" convention at Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium, a show featuring title matches. G-EGGS would get a big chance before then, as Yuji Nagata faced New Japan's dominant ace, Kensuke Sasaki, on 10/29 at Kobe World Hall. Having dyed such tours as "NWO TYPHOON" and "FALL IN BLACK" in his patented black before, Masahiro Chono and his army looked to obtain more success, and in doing so, gain political power for "BATTLE FINAL 2000".

    Foreign participation:
    Brian Johnston (G-EGGS): All shows
Super J (Team 2000): All shows
Dr. Wagner Jr. (CMLL): All shows

    Points of note:

  • (10/12) In the first of nineteen Team 2000 vs. G-EGGS matches, Brian Johnston defeated Ohara with a standing heel hold, putting G-EGGS ahead.

  • (10/12) Nagata made it two in a row for G-EGGS, continuing the strong start when he submitted Goto with the Nagata Lock II.

  • (10/12) Chono & Norton picked up a very important main event win for Team 2000, preventing a G-EGGS clean sweep on the opening day. They defeated Nakanishi & Yoshie, Norton powerbombing Yoshie's large frame into the mat.

  • (10/13) In the sole Team 2000 vs. G-EGGS match of the Ishikawa convention, Nakanishi, Nagata & Yoshie defeated the T2000 foreign trio of Norton, Frye & Super J when Nakanishi used an Argentine backbreaker on J to put G-EGGS 3-1 ahead.

  • (10/14) Battle 5 of Black vs. G-EGGS saw Frye & Kojima defeat Johnston & Yoshie, the old Frye vs. Johnston rivalry renewed in tag form. Frye pinned Yoshie following a right hook, and Team 2000 scored a much needed win.

  • (10/14) Norton & J wrapped up a good day for T2000, tying the series when they defeated former IWGP Tag Team Champions, Nakanishi & Nagata, Norton continuing his rampage when he pinned Nagata.

  • (10/15) After levelling the series yesterday, T2000 found themselves behind once more when Nakanishi, Nagata & Yoshie put away the strong force of Chono, Norton & Frye. Surprisingly Chono fell, submitting to the Nagata Lock, which put G-EGGS 4-3 ahead.

  • (10/18) In a shocker, Yoshie scored his second singles win of the year against Kojima in the first of three T2000 vs. G-EGGS matches in Nagasaki. Having beaten Kojima in just his second singles match after returning from overseas in May, Yoshie did it again, exploiting an injury and forcing Kojima to call it a day while trapped in a cross armbreaker.

  • (10/18) Frye got one back for Team 2000, pinning Johnston in the first singles match between these rivals since 2/14/99.

  • (10/18) G-EGGS extended it's lead to 6-4 when Nakanishi & Nagata defeated Goto & Ohara in the latest clash between two teams familiar with each other from IWGP Tag Team Title matches. Nakanishi lariated Goto, four man G-EGGS continuing to one up the much larger Team 2000 unit.

  • (10/19) Norton, Kojima & J defeated Nakanishi, Johnston & Norton, making the series 6-5, Norton adding Johnston to his list of victims on the tour.

  • (10/20) Liger avenged his upset IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title loss to Takaiwa from July, defeating the current champion in just 5 1/2 minutes in their latest (non-title) match.

  • (10/20) Junji Hirata revived his famous Super Strong Machine persona for the first time in six years, wrestling the first of two matches on the series against Team 2000's imposter SSM, T2000 Machine. The return was a successful one, SSM putting T2000 Machine away in just under 6 minutes with his patented Devil Windmill suplex hold.

  • (10/20) It was complete faction warfare when the entire G-EGGS faction, Nakanishi, Nagata, Johnston & Yoshie, met four of Team 2000's strongest, Chono, Norton, Tenzan & Kojima, in a 2/3 Falls Match. Nakanishi took the first fall for G-EGGS, forcing a rare submission out of Norton with an Argentine backbreaker. Chono tied it up, Yakuza kicking Johnston to win the second fall. And in the final fall, Norton avenged his earlier defeat, pinning Nakanishi following a Jackhammer, and in doing so making the series 6-6 now, deadlocked with seven matches remaining.

  • (10/21) Takaiwa continued to slump close to his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title defense against Minoru Tanaka, falling to AKIRA today in under 7 1/2 minutes.

  • (10/21) Liger's attempt to compete with heavyweights took it's latest blow when he fell to Frye, tapping out to a sleeper hold in under 8 minutes today.

  • (10/21) Despite missing the bulk of it's army, with Chono, Tenzan, Kojima, Hiro, Goto, and Ohara invading All Japan's same day Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium event, Team 2000 won it's only match of the show against G-EGGS. Norton & J defeated Nakanishi & Nagata for the second time in the series, the G-EGGS leaders, teaming by necessity after disbanding their permanent team recently, and falling when Norton pinned Nagata again. This put T2000 ahead for the first time in the series, now in the lead by 7-6.

  • (10/22) Takaiwa suffered his third defeat in a row, and had his recent knee injury worsened, when he this time tapped out to a cross kneelock applied by Kendo Kashin in six man tag competition.

  • (10/22) Battle 14 of T2000 vs. G-EGGS saw Yoshie again succeed in singles action, following up on his Battle 8 victory over Kojima with a win over Ohara.

  • (10/22) Having found themselves ahead for the first time the day before, Team 2000 were in the role of chasers again after Nakanishi, Nagata & Johnston defeated Chono, Frye & Norton, Johnston gaining some revenge on Frye for his singles loss by pinning him.

  • (10/24) The series was again tied when Chono & Frye downed Nagata & Yoshie, Chono Yakuza kicking Yoshie to make it 8-8 with three matches remaining.

  • (10/25) T2000 crept ahead, when Chono, Tenzan & Kojima, Team 2000's native all-stars, overcame Nakanishi, Nagata & Yoshie, Tenzan dropping a diving headbutt on Yoshie to make it 9-8.

  • (10/27) Team 2000 sealed the series, even with one match left, when Norton, Frye & J defeated Nakanishi, Nagata & Johnston, Frye choking out Johnston with a sleeper hold. T2000 forced the checkmate and 12/10 leadership with an unbeatable 10-8 lead, and G-EGGS could only hope to win back some pride from the final match of the series in Kobe.

  • (10/29) Kanemoto avenged his disasterous defeat to Liger at the Tokyo Dome in January, defeating the titan in a much longer, more competitive match this time.

  • (10/29) Super Strong Machine's return to combat T2000 Machine was again successful, when he picked up his second win of the series over the imposter, pinning him in even shorter time (under 5 minutes) following a diving headbutt.

  • (10/29) Minoru Tanaka capitalized on Tatsuhito Takaiwa's slump in form, largely prompted by a knee injury, upsetting the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion to become the 39th champion! Tanaka submitted Takaiwa with a cross kneelock to begin his first reign as champion. Tanaka, still not formally a New Japan wrestler after departing BattlARTS, found himself with both of New Japan's junior crowns, an incredible feat for the young upstart!

  • (10/29) G-EGGS' late series slump culminated in another loss to Team 2000 in Battle 19, the final clash between two sides on the tour. Chono, Norton & Frye beat Nakanishi, Johnston & Yoshie when Chono pinned Yoshie, completing an 11-8 series victory in style.

  • (10/29) It just got worse for G-EGGS in Kobe, when it's creator, Nagata, was again unable to overcome ace Kensuke Sasaki in singles competition. Kensuke repeated his G1 Climax feat of fending off tough competition from Nagata, spiking him with a Northern Light bomb to wrap up a series where the regular New Japan army was often out of the spotlight with a strong win.
  • Miscellaneous:

  • G-EGGS started very well against Team 2000, and maintained a consistent lead for much of the way, but Team 2000 mounted a comeback and were able to seal the series with ease in the end. G-EGGS' lack of military power may have been the deciding factor, as they only had four wrestlers (Nakanishi, Nagata, Johnston & Yoshie) to choose from, while T2000 had ten (Chono, Norton, Frye, Tenzan, Kojima, Super J, Hiro, Goto, Ohara & AKIRA) to choose from.
