"DO JUDGE!!". The meeting of super powers, New Japan and All Japan. An event that would forever mark the timeline of professional wrestling. For on this day, New Japan ace, Kensuke Sasaki, would fight an epic war with All Japan ace, Toshiaki Kawada, in a main event that will never be forgotten. Beneath that were two other New Japan vs. All Japan matches. In a battle of foreign aces, Scott Norton faced Steve Williams, the two brutes locking horns on the highest stage. In a match that would test Shiro Koshinaka's loyalty to New Japan, he teamed with All Japan's Masanobu Fuchi against Masahiro Chono and the mysterious Mr. T. Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima made their first defense of the IWGP Tag Team Title against the team they dethroned, generation rivals Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata. For the first time, Super Delfin's Osaka Pro would enter New Japan, Delfin himself facing the mighty Jushin Thunder Liger. And in his first New Japan appearance since the fateful match with Naoya Ogawa in April, Shinya Hashimoto would face President Tatsumi Fujinami in the opening match.

8. New Japan vs. All Japan: Toshiaki Kawada beat Kensuke Sasaki (19:38) with a jumping high kick.

Points of note:
The Destructive King, Shinya Hashimoto, made his first appearance since being driven into retirement by his loss to Naoya Ogawa on 4/9, facing the man who forced him to return, President Fujinami. Hashimoto released all of his dreaded fury, pummeling Fujinami into a bloody mess. Following three kicks to the head and a DDT, Hashimoto applied a chickenwing armlock, forcing Fujinami to tap out! Following the match, Hashimoto declared his complete independence from New Japan, saying he would create his own place to fight.
Osaka Pro ace, Super Delfin, formerly of Michinoku Pro, returned to New Japan, facing the man he fell to in the 1994 Best of the Super Jr. final, Jushin Thunder Liger. Delfin put up a good fight against Liger, lasting longer than many of Liger's top rivals in recent months had. Eventually though, the king of junior heavyweight wrestling was just too good, spiking Delfin with a brainbuster for the win.
Two of New Japan's top technicians, Iizuka and Team 2000's Don Frye, faced off in the third match. Both men wore open finger gloves, and exchanged punches. Shortly after the 10 minute mark, Frye caught Iizuka in a sleeper hold, and Iizuka had no choice but to submit.
Takaiwa made a successful V2 defense of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title, putting away old friend, Kanemoto. Takaiwa continued to control the junior division, hitting a Death Valley bomb for the victory.
Tenzan & Kojima's second reign as IWGP Tag Team Champions continued when they made a successful V1 defense against the men they defeated to take the belts in July, Nakanishi & Nagata. TenKoji exploited the challengers' lack of cooperation, which resulted in quarreling between G-EGGS. After 20 minutes of thrilling action, Nakanishi fell to Kojima's lariat.
The first New Japan vs. All Japan match of the show saw a gaijin clash, as Scott Norton locked horns with "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. All Japan would go 1-0 up when Williams sunk Norton into the mat with one of his patented backdrop drivers.
Masanobu Fuchi of All Japan walked down the Tokyo Dome rampway, trailed by New Japan's Koshinaka. Fans hurled trash at Fuchi, resulting in some stern looks from Koshinaka. Following his entrance, Chono announced "Mr. T", his partner. Wearing a Super Strong Machine mask and boxing gloves, the figure appeared to be Tatsutoshi Goto, and the former Super Strong Machine, Junji Hirata, called him out by name following the match. Following a Yakuza kick from Chono, T struck Koshinaka with a lariat to secure the win. Koshinaka said backstage that he would help protect All Japan from the New Japan attack.
And then came the match all 64,000 fans in attendance had been anticipating. All Japan ace, Toshiaki Kawada, entered first to a massive ovation, creating a thick and tense atmosphere. Next, seconded by Iizuka, Nagata, and Liger was dominant New Japan ace and IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Sasaki, who sported a determined expression. An epic battle was waged, with amazing force behind every strike, the prestige of two legendary promotions on the line. Each man survived his opponent's main submission, Kensuke's Scorpion Deathlock and Kawada's Stretch Plum. Kensuke charged with a lariat in mind, but Kawada struck him with a jumping high kick, and crawled over. He draped an arm over Kensuke, and the referee counted to three! All Japan triumphed over New Japan, Kawada pinning Sasaki! Kensuke handed his IWGP Heavyweight Title over to Hidekazu Tanaka, vacating the throne he dominated all year after failing to win today for New Japan. Many fans chanted "All Japan! All Japan! All Japan!", overwhelmed by Kawada's win in a classic slugfest.

Miscellaneous:
It was a hugely successful day for All Japan, who entered the Tokyo Dome and took the lead in this developing interpromotional war. They won today's series 2-1, and their only loss was indirect, Fuchi avoiding the direct fall when teaming with New Japan's Koshinaka. The main event dented New Japan and Kensuke Sasaki's pride, with Riki Choshu suggesting a quick rematch following the show.
