After splitting from CTU and leaving behind his heel ways, Katsushi Takemura struggled for results in New Japan's junior division. A bitter feud with CTU led to him facing all five of their native members one after another on a special junior series in August, 2005. Takemura won great support from the crowd, despite losing four of his matches, and left the series with a win over his generation rival, Hirooki Goto.
