Right before the first ever New Japan Cup, an openweight tournament held in April, 2005, a one night openweight tag tournament took place in Tottori as a warm-up for several participants. Following their return from an overseas expedition to Thailand, Yuji Nagata & Hirooki Goto scored the big upset, winning the tournament.
