Jado & Gedo celebrated their 20th anniversary in pro wrestling today with a successful show at Korakuen Hall, drawing a sell out crowd despite All Japan’s biggest show of the year also taking place in Tokyo. The famous tag team faced an interesting challenge in the form of Pro Wrestling NOAH heels Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Genba Hirayanagi, who presented a tough fight for the hometown boys. The difference in experience and cohesion was telling though, as Jado & Gedo prevailed, Jado submitting Hirayanagi. This was Gedo’s return after a long injury that has kept him out much of the year, and the brothers hugged post-match before thanking fans. The show also saw several other interesting matches, such as a Hardcore Tag in which Yano & Masato Tanaka bested Makabe & Goto, while an all-star junior eight man tag also excited fans.

The most interesting result out of this card was Tanaka pinning Goto, I for sure thought Yano was going to take the fall in that match.

Well, Makabe beat Sai, so this was probably Z1’s payback. Also, Tanaka and Jado & Gedo have history together, so it makes sense.

It may be wishful thinking, but if this leads to a Tanaka vs. Goto singles match I will be very, very happy.
